Fares are valid for domestic traffic and traffic with the CIS countries, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Abkhazia.

The child’s age is determined on the day the trip begins.

If a child turns 5 on the day of the train departure, a ticket can be purchased at a cashless fare, if 10–at a child fare.

Cashless fare–for children under 5 years old #

Each adult passenger can take one child under 5 years old with them. A ticket for a child is purchased at a cashless fare without providing a seat. If you need an extra seat, you need to issue a ticket at the child fare.

An electronic ticket for a child must be issued in one order with an adult ticket paid at the adult fare.

When traveling on suburban trains, you do not need to buy a ticket for a child who does not have a separate seat.

You can also get a cashless ticket for a child at the ticket office. To do this, present an electronic ticket for an adult, paid at the adult fare.

Online purchase of cashless electronic train tickets from Ukraine is not available on Ozon Travel.

Child fare–for children from 5 to 10 years old #

For a child from 5 to 10 years old, an electronic ticket is issued at the child fare, and the child has a separate seat. A ticket is issued for each child. An electronic ticket for a child must be issued in one order with a ticket for an adult at the adult fare.

Please note: children under 10 years old can’t travel on long-distance trains unaccompanied by adults. The exception is schoolchildren who travel by rail to educational institutions.

Adult fare–for children from 10 years old #

For a child over 10 years old, an electronic ticket is issued at the adult fare.

If you are booking a ticket for a child under the age of 14, specify their birth certificate details. When boarding the train, you should present the original or a notarized copy of the certificate.

If you are booking a ticket for a child over the age of 14, specify their passport details. When boarding the train, you should present the original document. Two months after the child turns 14, the passenger car attendant has the right to deny boarding if the child’s birth certificate instead of passport details is on the ticket.

Low fare tickets #

You can purchase low fare tickets only at the Russian Railways ticket offices with a supporting document.
