From January 9 to February 6, Ozon will run a sale of products of different categories.

From January 9 to February 6

Only for the “Clothing, Footwear, and Accessories” category:

  • SUPERhits is a sales scheme with an over 16% discount throughout all days of the sale period and a promotion, comparable only to “Hot Sale” and “MegaHits” mechanics.

  • Hits is a sales scheme with an 11% discount throughout all days of the sale period and a promotion, which gives products an advantage over the ones that don’t participate in the sale.

For other product categories:

  • SUPERhits is a sales scheme with an over 7% discount throughout all days of the sale period and a promotion comparable only to “Hot Sale” and “MegaHits” mechanics.

  • Hits is a sales scheme with an over 5% discount throughout all days of the sale period and a promotion, which gives products an advantage over the ones that don’t participate in the sale.

From January 22 to February 6

Only for the “Clothing, Footwear, and Accessories” category:

  • MegaHits is a sales scheme with an over 17% discount throughout all days of the sale period and maximum promotion.

For other product categories:

  • MegaHits is a sales scheme with an over 15% discount throughout all days of the sale period and maximum promotion.

From January 24 to February 6

Only for the “Clothing, Footwear, and Accessories” category:

  • Hot Sale is a sales scheme with a one-day-discount over 18% and maximum promotion.

Adding products to a promotion automatically #

All products that are in stock on December 22, 2023 and have had sales in the last 30 days are automatically added to the “Hits” and “SUPERhits” promotions. You can remove products and add new ones until the sale ends.

On January 16, 2024 Ozon will add products to the “MegaHits” sale on the same principle. You can remove them or add more products to the sale at any time.

Which products can participate in promotions #

You can participate in promotion with any products except for smoking supplies.

To participate in promotion, your products must meet at least two of the following requirements:

  • less than 10% of complaints about the product;
  • less than 10% of refunds, non-purchased products, and unclaimed orders;
  • the average rating of the product not less than 3.

How to add products to promotions #

All products that are in stock as of December 22, 2023 and have had sales in the last 30 days are added to the “Hits” and “SUPERhits” sales. On January 16, 2024 Ozon will add products to the “MegaHits” sale by the same principle. You can edit the product list, their quantity, and increase the discount.

To participate in the “Hot Sale” promotion:

  1. Go to Promotions and select the one to add the products to.
  2. Select the products and click Add to promotion. To add all relevant products at once, click Add all products.
  3. Specify how many items of each product you’ll offer at a promotional price. If you participate in the “Hot Sale”, it’s important that you have a guaranteed stock of at least 5 product items.
  4. Click Confirm.
Sales discounts aren’t cumulative. If you add a product to two different sales, it’ll be sold at the price of the promotion with the larger discount. The smaller discount will apply when the products from the promotion with the larger discount are sold out.

You can remove products or add new ones:

  • In the “Hot Sale” promotion: until 23:59 Moscow time on January 22, 2024. After this date, you can only reduce prices and increase stocks.
  • In other promotions: during the entire sale period.

How to add products to a promotion

Discount amount #

The discount amount depends on the product category and the promotion mechanics. Ozon calculates the discount amount from the average product price over the last 30 days. For example, if the average product price is 900 rubles, we’ll ask for a discount from this price. To calculate the discount, Ozon compares the prices for similar products from your competitors on Ozon and other sites.

If the product participated in previous promotions, when adding a product:

  • To any promotion: when calculating a discount, Ozon doesn’t take into account the price in the “MegaHits”, “Black Friday”, and “Final Sale of the Year” promotions.
  • To “Hits”: if the product participated in the “Hits” of another sale within 30 days, we’ll calculate a discount from the previous promotional price. The discount will be less than for the product that didn’t participate in the previous “Hits”.

Ozon limits the minimum discount for the promotion duration:

  • From 5% on products with a regular price up to 10,000 rubles.
  • At least 500 rubles for products more expensive than 10,000 rubles.
  • No higher than competitors' prices on other marketplaces. Special Ozon discounts and seller’s coupons aren’t taken into account.

If the price of the product doesn’t meet the conditions, next to it you’ll see a price recommendation to participate in the promotion. If you decide not to update the price, Ozon reserves the right to exclude such items from the promotion.

In the “Hits” promotion, you can add and remove products at any time before the sale ends. During the entire promotion, the price shouldn’t be higher than the competitors' on other marketplaces, not taking into account special discounts from the marketplace and seller coupons.

You don’t have to ship products every day, but we recommend that you don’t take days offs during the promotional period to ensure delivery is as fast as possible.

Boosting promotional products #

In the app and on the Ozon website, we’ll:

  • Create a separate page for each sale.
  • Highlight the products in search results and catalog: there’ll be a sticker on the PDP about participation in the sale and a promotional price.
  • Show the stocks counter on the PDPs on promotion days.
  • Add a filter by promotional products to the website search.
  • Raise the products in search results and catalog for the promotional period. If you participate in the fast delivery program, the products will rank even higher.
  • Spend 1 billion rubles to attract 100 million people: we’ll launch TV commercials and ads on radio and in social media, place outdoor advertising in large cities, and send notifications to all customers.

To raise products above other participants of the promotion, in the Promotion → Promotions section click Boost promotions.

Products that don’t participate in the promotions will drop in search results and catalog: it’ll be more difficult for customers to find them.

Track the participation effect #

You can track the participation effect in your personal account, in the Analytics section:

  • by promotions: their schedule is compatible with the sales schedule, so that it’s more convenient to track the participation effect;
  • by the sales schedule: it most clearly shows how sales are growing at the moment.
