Group purchasing is a free tool you can use to sell out a whole batch of products at the best possible price.

How It Works #

  1. You set up:

    • the dates of the group purchase,
    • the minimum number of products customers must order for it to happen.
  2. As part of a group purchase, a customer pays in advance for an order of one or more products.

  3. The customer shares the link to the group purchase with their friends who also order products.

  4. After the customers have ordered the minimum required number of products, or the time of the group purchase has expired, the group purchase will end, and you will have 72 hours to make a decision to:

    • Complete the group purchase if you are satisfied with the number of orders placed, even if the minimum required number of products has not been ordered yet. In this case, you will have to deliver the products to the customer.

    • Cancel the group purchase if you changed your mind and want to cancel the group purchase. In this case, all orders are cancelled and buyers get their money back.

Group purchasing is available only to Ozon mobile app users.

Creating a Group Purchase #

You can create up to 5 active group purchases—each one containing up to 10 products.
  1. Go to Marketing → Group Purchases.

  2. Click:

    • Create my First Group Purchase if this is your first group purchase.
    • Create a New Group Purchase if you’ve created group purchases before.
  3. In the Main Information section, fill in the following fields:

    • Name. It will be visible only to you. You can use it to search for group purchases in the list of group purchases.

    • Start Date and End Date.

      A group purchase can not be active for longer than 1 month.

      Specify the dates of the group purchase. Once the group purchase has started, you can change the end date, for example, if you want to extend the group purchase period.

      On the end date, the group purchase will end, and you will have 72 hours to decide on it.

    • Number of Products, pcs. Enter the total number of products in pcs to be ordered during the group purchase. After customers have ordered this number of products, the group purchase will end, and you will have 72 hours to decide on it.

      Example

      You entered 20 in this field and added two products to your group purchase: a kettle and an iron. This means that the group purchase will end if a total of 20 products are ordered: 9 kettles and 11 irons, or 15 kettles and 5 irons.

    • Minimum Amount of Money. Enter the desired amount of money in rubles. After customers have ordered products for this amount of money, the group purchase will not end, but you will be able to end it manually and decide on it.

  4. To add products and set a price for them:

    You can add from 1 to 10 available products. One product can only participate in one group purchase at a time.
    • Click Add Products. You can add products:

      • Manually. To find the desired product, search using its Ozon ID or name.

      • Using an XLS file. Click Import to an XLS File, download the template, fill it out, and then upload it.

    • In the Group Purchase Price column, enter the price at which the product will be sold in the group purchase. It must be lower than the current price.

    • Click Add Products.

  5. Agree to the Terms of Group Purchasing.

  6. Click Save the Group Purchase.

How to Decide on Group Purchases #

If you do not decide on a group purchase, it will be cancelled automatically 72 hours after it is ended.

In the Marketing → Group Purchases section, look for the Ongoing tab and click the group purchase you want to decide on. On the page of the group purchase, look for the Statistics tab which contains the following information:

  • Statistics on current orders: how many products are ordered and the total amount of money for the ordered products.
  • Time left until the end of the group purchase.

You can stop the group purchase at any moment:

  • Click I Will Ship if you are satisfied with the number of orders placed and are ready to ship the products.
  • Click I Will not Ship if you want to end the group purchase and cancel the orders in it.

Shipments for the group purchase are shown on the orders from your warehouses list, on the All Shipments tab, and they have the A Waiting Confirmation status. After you confirm the group purchase, the shipments will be moved to the Awaiting Packaging tab. Package them and transfer them to the delivery service.

Terms of Cancellation of Orders in Group Purchases #

  • If the group purchase period is not over, but orders have been placed, you can cancel it; however, each cancelled order will lower your rating.

  • If the group purchase period is over, but there are not enough orders in it, you can cancel it; this will not affect your rating.

  • If the group purchase period is over, and the minimum order quantity or more has been placed, you can cancel it; however, each cancelled order will lower your rating.
