Content rating is a recommendation for filling in optional product characteristics, which will help make it more attractive to customers. The higher the rating, the more likely customers will choose your product.

You can find this indicator in Manage Inventory and when editing a card in your personal account. You can also view the Content rating in a CSV report.

To download a report, go to Products and pricesManage InventoryDownload productsProducts CSV.

You won’t find it in XLS format reports, in API, Synchrozon, and when downloading reports from a list. Also, the Content rating is not yet available for the “18+” and “Media products” categories.

Content rating doesn’t guarantee an increase in sales. For this, we recommend using other engagement tools: promotions, prices, and reviews.

How to find out your products rating #

The new indicator is in the Products and prices → Products section: the Content Rating block is displayed in each position field.

Click the Content rating cell next to the product you’re interested in. You’ll see a tooltip on the sidebar about what characteristics you need to fill in to get the maximum score.

A low content rating will not lead to blockages and work restrictions on the website. This indicator only helps you fill in the product card. The list of characteristics depends on the product category. If you can’t fill in any of them, that’s okay.

How to increase the content rating #

To fill in the characteristics of an already created product, click on the number of its content rating points, and then click Edit product.

When editing and creating a product, you’ll see a Preliminary score. It will change depending on how many characteristics you fill in. When you fill in all the characteristics that you planned, click Save. The card will be sent for moderation. If it is successful, the Content rating will be updated.

While the product card is being moderated, the Content rating field in the products list will be marked Calculating. After moderation is complete, you will see the actual score in this cell.

If the product doesn’t pass moderation, you can view the list of errors. To do this:

  • hover the cursor over the Status cell in the Manage Inventory section;
  • click What errors to fix in the Content rating section when editing a product card;
  • enter product editing mode on the sidebar or product editing card. The hint will be indicated by a yellow triangle icon.
For example, you’ve decided to update the product card to increase the Content rating from 47.5 to 75 points. When you fill in the required characteristics, in the Preliminary score section you will see 75 points, and Content rating will be equal to 47.5. When you click Save, the product will be sent for moderation, during which the Content rating will be equal to 47.5 points. If moderation is successful, and we don’t find any errors, the Content rating will be 75 points. If not, it will remain the same: 47.5 points.

Sometimes we add new characteristics after you’ve filled in product cards. Then the content rating may decrease. To find out which attributes have been added and to increase the rating value, open the product editing mode or content rating window. There you will see new unfilled characteristics.

How is the Content rating calculated #

The content rating consists of 4 types of optional characteristics: search characteristics, rich-content and description, media, additional characteristics. In total, you can get 100 points in the categories: each has its own maximum.

Mandatory characteristics are not included in the rating, as without them the product will not pass moderation and will not be available on the marketplace.

Search characteristics: 30 points #

Search characteristics help you bundle products into groups and find products using filters and search. The number of characteristics depends on the product type: somewhere there may be 10 of them, and somewhere 16.

30 More than 70% of the characteristics are filled in.
22,5 From half to 70% of the characteristics are filled in.
15 From 2 to half of the characteristics are filled in.
0 0 or 1 characteristic is filled in.

For example, your product can have 9 search characteristics. You will get:

  • 0 points if you fill in 0 or 1 characteristic;
  • 15 points for 2, 3, or 4 characteristics;
  • 22.5 points for 5 or 6 characteristics;
  • 30 points for 7, 8, or 9 characteristics.

Rich content and description: 20 points #

The product description will allow customers to learn more about the product and increase their trust. The larger and more detailed the description, the higher the probability that the user will find the necessary information in it. When evaluating descriptions, we count characters with spaces.

You can add JSON rich content to the description: multimedia elements that will attract attention and help to emphasize the important product features.

Points Terms
20 There is rich content.
10 501 or more characters with spaces, but without rich content.
5 101–500 characters with spaces, but without rich content.
0 Less than 100 characters with spaces, without rich content.
For example, a 120 characters description will get you 5 points. If you add rich content, you will get 20 points.

Media: 25 points #

In this category, we evaluate everything that helps to get a closer look at your product: photos, videos, and 360 photos.

You can upload a 360 photo only via XLS. For now, you can’t do this via your personal account.

For example, you upload a carpet to the website. If you upload 2 photos and a video, you will get 16.25 points. If you upload 3 photos, a video, and a 360 photo, you will get 25 points.

Additional characteristics: 25 points #

This category is displayed in the “Characteristics” section and allows the customer to learn more about the product. As with search attributes, the number of fields can vary depending on the product type. To get the maximum points, you don’t have to fill in all of them. It’s enough to fill in more than half.

For example, your product may have 7 additional characteristics. You will get:

  • 0 points if you fill in 1 characteristic;
  • 12.5 points if you fill in 2 or 3 characteristics;
  • 25 points if you fill in 4 or more characteristics.
